Title: “Rethinking Modernity through the Himalayas”
🙋🏻♂️ Surender Thakur is a well known academician and scholar in the field of Himalayan Studies and in the area of state and globalization. His work focuses on the cultural, ecological, and socio-economic dynamics of the Himalayan region, with particular attention to how state policies and global processes reshape mountain lives and landscapes. Through extensive research, fieldwork, and scholarly contributions, he has significantly enriched conversations on modernity, development, and everyday life in the Himalayas. He has been a former research fellow at School of International Studies, JNU and is currently an Assistant Professor at Government College Banjar, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.
